COO Project Overview
You Only Need To Pick 1 Of The Challenges Below.
This is a PAID test project.
The Business Situation
We just did a re-org where our Customer Success team left the Revenue Department and joined with the Customer Support and Professional Services department to create our Customer Experience Department.
The customer experience team is responsible for the following business activities
- Onboarding customers
- Onboarding calls
- Training (courses, live webinars, and more)
- Responding to support tickets
- Our customer-based community
- Fulfilling our marketplace services (professional services)
- Educating customers on how to use features
- Upselling customers to find more value in the right plans
The COO will be a strong strategic leader who is responsible for aligning this new customer experience team with the product and engineering team to build/improve features that make a meaningful impact on the customer’s business and our business. The COO will work with sales and marketing as well but for this project – please constrain your thinking to how you would get the newly formed Customer Experience team excited and moving towards our mission of creating more freedom and impact for our customers.
Challenge #1: Improve Our Pricing & Packaging Strategy
Context: it’s been two years since we’ve made any substantial pricing & packaging updates. One of our primary goals this year is to update our pricing packaging.
We will provide some user surveys and data to see where customers find the most value
- Improve our current pricing & packaging strategy
- Make recommendations on our pricing and packaging strategy based on data and your experience.
- Make a list of questions or more data items you would need
- Bring strategic documents/methods/frameworks you’ve used in the past
Challenge #2: Update Our Product Strategy Plan
Let’s assume you have the Customer Experience Team (support, success, professional services) and Product Team reporting to you. You need to improve our product strategy that helps Carrot build the right features and craft an amazing experience for our customers and teams.
- Update our strategic plan
- Improve our goals/metrics/milestones
- Improve/update key strategies we will implement
- Suggest an org chart (knowing what you know of our business)
- Suggest profitability metrics, assumptions, and forecasts
Challenge #3: Refine Our Company 2023 Strategic Plan
Context: We just published our 2023 plan – but as the COO you would be responsible for executing this plan – how could it be better and how would you rally the company?
- Refine our 2023 company plan
- Create a communication plan on how to align, rally and excite the company around this plan
Project Deliverables
We are looking to actually use this (with refinement) if you decide to join us at Carrot :). But progress is better than perfection. If possible we would love to have you complete this work in person with us so we can get to know you better but also answer any questions you have to help you refine the strategy. Once complete, read below for how to send us the work.

- We will follow up with an email confirming receipt and a time to discuss the project and the next steps.
