Product Manager Project Overview

For this phase of the interview, we’d like you to put together a short presentation that:

  • You can use to showcase your talents to a group of Carrot team members.
  • Gives the team a chance to get to know you better.
  • Let you get hands-on with one of our existing features and talk about how you would improve it.

Theme #1:

10 minutes

Tell us about yourself! Give the group a chance to get to know you a bit personally.

Show the team a few highlights from your work to date and talk about some of your wins and challenges.

Describe your role, products you’ve built, and how those products have impacted your company and your customers.

Theme #2:

20 minutes

One of the primary goals of our website platform is to help our customers rank on Google. To do so, creating helpful, unique content is important. VideoPost is a feature we launched with that goal in mind, but it hasn’t seen the adoption that we hoped. You are given the goal of increasing the adoption and usage of our VideoPost feature.

Take the feature for a spin and then prepare to present how you would approach this goal. Some considerations when making your presentation:

  • What more do you need to know? How would you find the answers?
  • What initial improvement ideas or hypotheses do you have?
  • What process would you follow to validate your proposals and associated assumptions?
  • What resources and processes would you enlist to build it?
  • How would you measure the success of this feature once it had been launched?
  • What long-term goals or outcomes would you attach to your proposal?
  • Feel free to choose what resources you would have available to you.
  • Leave about 5 minutes for Q&A.

Deliverables

We’ll have you share your presentation with the team during our third and final interview together!

Here’s how that final interview will shake out:

  • Part 1: Candidate (that’s you 🙂) presentation (30 minutes total – leave time for Q+A!)
  • Part 2: Panel interview with a collection of 3-4 Carrot team members (15 minutes each). The questions our team will ask will dig deeper into your experience and related skills + accomplishments.
